Meet Lori

John L. Scott Bellevue-Issaquah broker Lori McDonald got her real estate license in 1990, and has worked full-time as a broker since 2003. Before real estate, Lori was a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines, traveling internationally as a part of her job to destinations in Europe and Asia. She was drawn to real estate because the industry is constantly changing, making the work of helping others buy and sell consistently exciting.

Lori helps all types of clients reach their real estate goals, often helping people in Issaquah, Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Enumclaw, Lake Tapps, Buckley, Puyallup and Sumner. Though Lori has many awards, accreditations and experiences under her belt, she strongly believes it’s crucial to continuously seek further education on current market trends and happenings in the real estate industry. This, coupled with her dedication to going above-and-beyond when it comes to staging and marketing has resulted in many happy clients who choose Lori again and again for their real estate needs.

For many people the purchase or sale of a home will be their largest investment in life. Lori’s goal is to successfully and easily help clients navigate through the financial, investment and emotional decisions involved in a real estate transaction. Whether clients are new to the area or have lived here for years, she can be a valuable community resource when making a move. Over the past two decades, Lori has honed her negotiation skills to help her clients maximize their real estate investment. Additionally, her approach is centered around excellent customer service, honesty and integrity – so clients making this important life decision can rest assured they have the best representation possible with Lori.

Lori is inspired by giving back and helping others. Whether it be family, friends or clients, she likes to provide and set the groundwork for others looking to accomplish their goals. Many of Lori’s friends joke, “Don’t say you need something done around Lori – if she can’t get it done she will call someone that can get it done from her pool of contacts.” She is dedicated to many causes, including the Alzheimer’s Association, the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce and the Seattle Children's Guild Association. She also served as a planning commissioner for seven years.

When she’s not working or volunteering, Lori takes full advantage of living in the Pacific Northwest – hiking, traveling and snow skiing.

Maple Valley

Maple Valley has consistently been recognized as one of the country’s safest cities, but the natural beauty of this area and the community spirit are what really make us stand out. And that’s why we’re one of Washington State’s fastest growing cities. Education is important to many Maple Valley residents. The city is served by the Tahoma School district, which is well respected throughout Washington State and the U.S. Tahoma High School rates among the top 5% nationwide. This coveted school district helps keep Maple Valley property values elevated, which benefits even residents who don’t have students in their households. Community events in Maple Valley include a fishing derby each April, Make a Difference day where neighbors help neighbors each October, and a holiday tree lighting each December. Maple Valley Days, held the second weekend of June every year features a parade, classic car show, rides, a fun run and live entertainment. Housing in Maple Valley comes in all forms, from townhomes and condos to farmhouses surrounded by horses or alpacas, and every variety in between. We have neighborhoods of tree-lined streets, and we have homes on many acres that provide more privacy. No matter what type of home you live in though, access to community parks and trails make it easy to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. Lake Wilderness park is a favorite of residents. It’s a beautiful and scenic setting, with views of Mt. Rainier and access to the lake. You can rent a boat or launch your own or go for a swim. Lake Wilderness Park is also home to a golf course, if hitting the greens is more your style. If you’d like to learn more about Maple Valley, let us know. We’d love to show you around and help you find your perfect home.

Reviews

“Lori sold my dad's house. My dad had been in his home for 60 years and because I wasn't local, I was worried about all the details that needed to be handled. Lori took great care of my dad and kept me updated every step of the way. She helped with so many different things, we wouldn't have been able to complete the entire process, including listing, selling and closing, in only 21 days. I would highly recommend Lori.”
